Sometimes big change is just what the Dr. ordered.  I recently met Kate at a photo shoot, and we decided to cut all of her hair off right then and there. There is nothing like doing a big change on the fly with time ticking, what a rush!   She is a pretty woman, and then we cut her hair off… WOW!! What a hottie. I swear she even walked with a pep in her step. Kate got a lift, it was almost like she was lighter in every sense of the word. Changing your hair can be so liberating.

 Spring has sprung!!!

Oh my goodness.. I am starting even type something my mom would say!!   My mom is the funniest person I know, and am thankful for her in so many ways.  Cathy is the kind of lady who always had her self put together before she leaves the house; she always has her lips on if going in public.  She always looks nice.  I remember in my teenage years my mom and my grandma always saying to me “you need some roush” (old fashion talk for blush). “It will give you some color”.  Obviously that sank in to my brain even if I did not start really wearing makeup years later. Now a days  I just feel better when I have the essentials on my face, mascara some blush, and a least some gloss on my lips., You see no matter how many times we have been warned, or it might slowly sneaks up on us, or WHAM  wake up one day, we wind up being our parents!!!  I have even say now “hold on let me put my lips on” that is something I grew up hearing time and time again from my ma.

With the change of season I like to reinvent my makeup. Even if it’s getting all my makeup set it out on my kitchen table looking it all over, throwing away the stuff your suppose to after so many months, and take a makeup remover wipe and clean everything off.  It makes all your makeup look brand new again, and when it’s all laid out like this I remember stuff I had forgotten about and start to play around with different combinations.  By throwing out some too, is a good enough reason to buy some new items for me!!!

This season I am especially excited because bright lips are in!!! woot woot.  Coral is really hot right now.  Getting a new lip color is the fastest easiest way to a smile.  It can even change how your outfit looks.  Get out there and get your lips on!

Float Therapy, have you heard of it?
I did not, until I bought a Groupon for me and my husband. After all like most we are trying to be healthier in the new year.  It seemed to fall under that category. ??  I had only heard its “like meditating for a long period of time” , and you float in a pod of water  that is the same temperature as your own body temperature.
This was of course a great conversation to have with my clients.  Being behind is a great resource for almost anything.  To my surprise not many people even knew what I was talking about.
Being excited about this float for some time, it was finally the day we planned on going,  as we were are almost there,   I  then realized that I don’t know what to really expect  either.
We walk in to the Float Shoppe and are greeted kindly and took a seat, in the waiting area, which is a cute living room like feel.  Dylan the owner sat down with us to tell us the benefits of floating and all the ins and outs of the experience.  I have to say this was very helpful,  because I did not know why people did this in the first place.  We then went in to a nice private dimly lit room, with a shower and finally “THE POD “.  Since I did not research anything at all I was so excited to see what one of these looked like.  It looks like something out of the future!!
So our experience began..  I was happy to have my own space so I could try to relax my mind. ( I tend to have a hard time to unwind fully, but really wanted to try to “get there”.) After a cleansing shower, and put in the new earplugs (provided) in that keep out water AND noise, I turned of the little lamp, as suggested, and in the Pod I went.  The water has a lot of salt, which keeps you afloat.  Do not shave the day of, it was a bit stingy on my legs for about 5-10 minutes.  The point of Float therapy is to take your senses to zero. No noise, no light, nothing touching you all awhile you are weightless.  About after 15 minutes.. I did get a bit anxious, after all there was no stimulation and did not know what to do with my self.  Thankfully Dylan mentioned that new comers get antsy around 15 min.  so I opened my pod, via the button inside, floated with the hatch open for a few minutes to get comfortable with my new surrounding, and closed it when I felt comfortable again.  It was much easier, and I could hear myself breath and nothing else.  I started thinking of all sorts of things, coming up with good ideas, and things I want to do.  I too became real comfortable, warm, no pains, deep breaths and then nothingness,  Ya I “got there”.  I was zoned out for sure. When the music started playing indicating that my session was over I wished I had another hour.  sigh… After another hot shower I met Chris and Dylan down in the waiting area.  He explained that we will have heighten senses this day and possible days to come and that things that would normally bother us will just roll off our backs. Dylan also said that music would sound better and our sight will be crisper and vibrant.   I thought  umm okay, that’s weird, I thought when its over its over.  We were done about 2:00 on a beautiful sunny day, and I felt AMAZING, things did seem to be more vibrant, the music did seem to be rocking my world.  I felt like a new person, and never have I felt this relaxed from any service in the past.  This lasted all day and night, I slept like a baby.  My husband and I are already signed up for more floats.  Now that I know what to expect I hope to “get there” faster next time.
I really recommend floating, for a variety of reason.  Check out wwwfloatshoppe.com  for more information on the benefits.

I try to find inspiration in a lot of ways, but nothing more than Fashion Week!!!!  This year there was a lot of color blocking in the design of the clothes.  Big bold patterns, its fun and beautiful at the same time.  This translates into hair color like a dream.  Whether its natural or you want to make a statement.  Talk to your colorist and be the first on your block to COLOR BLOCK!!!

You are never fully dressed without a SMILE….    I am not talking about the musical Annie either.  I notice that when someone walks into a room with a smile on they are automatically attractive.   Beauty comes from within and translated through expressions.  So smile more, smile at someone, smile in the morning, and smile goodnight.  Do it!!!! It looks good on you.
